Records and correspondence relating to Dean-Throckmorton's professional activities. Records from the State Medical Library primarily consist of correspondence, library reports and a gift log. Records are also included from the societies of which she was member. Records from the State Society of Iowa Medical Women is especially noteworthy for its biographical files of many Iowa women doctors. The collection also includes a few speeches and articles are from her period of work with the United States Public Health Service; correspondence with Walter L. Bierring related to his book One hundred years of Iowa medicine (for which Dean-Throckmorton produced an index); a list of babies delivered during the time she was practicing medicine; and a collection of medical book plates.
